News From the Forest

This week's Ranger is Yana. She is ten-years-old. She was born in Chapel Hill. Her family includes her dad, her mom, her two dogs and her brother. (She says her brother counts as one of the pets!) The thing she most likes to do when she is at home is draw. If you were stranded on an island alone, Yana would want a boat. Her favorite food is pancakes. Her least favorite food is anything green and slimy. Her hobbies are drawing and doing animation on the computer. When she goes on vacation she most likely goes to the beach. Yana's dream vacation would be to go to the Bahamas. When she grows up, she wants to be a professional animator.

News From the Forest Teachers:

  • The students are working hard on their Mongolian research projects, preparing for the opening of our museum.
  • It's conference time!  Remember that we have no school on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday next week (2/22, 23, and 24) for preparing for and conducting conferences.  This is such an important time -- we look forward to seeing you!
  • Check out our new cushions we purchased for the Forest Class. These cushions engage the core and keep the body energy flowing during seat work. We are also using the cushions to provide extra height and support posture during our keyboarding instruction. The kids love them!
